The Dobřichovice Farmstead buildings are representatives of buildings for housing in a town centre. They respect regulations and the surrounding buildings; they create an atmosphere of neighbourly relations. They do not step out of the line of other buildings, historical and contemporary, by their concept and philosophy. They offer a modern form of quality housing with well-though public space, green, and a sufficient number of parking places in an underground garage. The primary form is the design's articulation into two smaller houses: one of them along Palackého (street), the second towards the east in the site's garden. This concept of two houses builds on the possibility to develop according to the Regulation Plan, the positions of building lines, and footprints of blocks with a different development rate. Not long ago, this place was a farmstead whose small elements, including the premises' name, will carry the new complex further into the future. Therefore, both houses are linked by an idea of the historical continuity of the place and respect to traditional architecture in small communities. However, by their function, the homes will meet modern requirements. The house facing the street is a simple form with light render and a hip roof distinctly lining the street line without any breaks of complicated articulation. The second house in the garden continues the timber barns that used to be part of every farmstead. Its location respects the adjacent land boundaries, and its shape follows the form of the surrounding gables and the beauty of the environment. Our design also emphasizes green and public space. An avenue lines Palackého, there can be small shops on the houses' ground floor. The concept allows people meet or relax in the commune yard between houses (with trees as a vital element providing shade and privacy) and on the last section of the site – a large hidden garden allowing the private growing of flowers and vegetables.
